The 2023 Queensland Pedal Prix Super Series is shaping up to be an exciting event for cycling and STEM enthusiasts in the state. This annual race is for single seat, school entered, racing Human Powered Vehicles, to compete in a series of eight endurance races.
The event takes place over several months, with races held at various locations throughout the state of Queensland. Teams compete in a variety of categories, including junior, senior, and open divisions, with each category featuring its own set of challenges and requirements.
One of the unique features of the Pedal Prix Super Series is the human-powered vehicles used in the race. These vehicles are designed to be fast, lightweight, and aerodynamic, allowing teams to achieve high speeds and cover long distances over the course of the race. They are powered entirely by the cyclists themselves, with each team member taking turns pedalling the vehicle while the others rest and recover.
The 2023 event promises to be particularly exciting, with several new teams and competitors expected to participate. The race organizers have also made several changes to the course and format of the race, including adding new challenges and obstacles to keep competitors on their toes.
There are four short sprint courses and four endurance events in the series. Any combination of these courses to make up two sprint and one enduro’ is acceptable. Teams are encouraged to do as many events as they wish, as only their best 3 top scores will contribute to the team’s points tally. However, a bonus point is added to the team’s tally for every course your team attends.
